Polypropylene (Homo-Polymer)

 Polypropylene » Polypropylene (Homo-Polymer)

Polypropylene (Homo-Polymer) is a thermoplastic material and is one of the lightest thermoplastics on the market. It is very tough and versatile for many applications and has a great chemical resistance. Although Polypropylene can be translucent it is generally available as solid colours with or without a texture. It can be used for fabrication, thermoforming or just as a sheet cut to size.

What are the advantages Polypropylene Homo-Polymer?

  • Simple processing.
  • Low density.
  • Excellent chemical resistance against most chemicals.
  • Excellent heat distortion temperature.
  • Generally suitable for food product contact.
  • The properties can be modified using different fillers, thus enhancing its characteristics, such as stiffness and rigidity, as well as heat distortion resistance.

What types of Polypropylene Homo-Polymer do we offer?

  • Homo-polymer is a polypropylene with a higher temperature resistance and higher stiffness.
  •

Which characteristics can be improved?

  • Visual appearance.
  • Dimensional stability.
  • Stiffness.
  • Abrasion resistance.
  • Friction (higher or lower).
  • Various weather influence resistance (UV resistance).
  • Fire retardancy. (UL94, Glow Wire Classifications).
  • Antistatic characteristics and electrical conductivity,

What applications are Polypropylene Homo-Polymer especially suitable for?

Polypropylene Co-Polymer is most suitable for fabrication including hot air welding along with thermoforming.  Vacuum formed steralisation equipment using our Homo-Polymer Polypropylene sheet is readily used.
